Get to know Jess

My business journey started when I was just 16 when I launched my first business, Furreal Fashion. This was a clothing company, specialising in fur coats, gilets and slides. I successfully built the Instagram account to over 1,000 followers and earned over £2,000 within a few months, being 16 I felt like I had made it.

After finishing Sixth Form, I began my first full-time role in property lettings. The company had no social media presence, so I volunteered to set up and manage their instagram account. This is where my passion for social media management truly began. I loved every aspect of it and dedicated myself to learning as much as possible about social media management and content creation to make it as much of a success as possible. Looking back now, it wasn't my best work...

ABOUT ME

This passion led me to my first role as a Social Media Assistant for the podcast "Success Won't Come Calling." I then took on the personal branding and business social media accounts for the host. In 2021, I established 'The Social Side.'

Since then, I have gained extensive knowledge, experience, and skills from working with diverse clients and industries. I am always seeing ways to improve; I have completed courses with The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Girls in Marketing, Sloan House Marketing, and Socialista. Additionally, I have started a Master's Degree in Digital Marketing at the University of Liverpool.

I have expanded my services to include better management packages, content days, and advice sessions. I have also grown my portfolio of clients and industries I work with. In 2024, I rebranded my business to Socially Awkward to better align with my goals and services.

"I have gained so much knowledge, experience and skills since then from working with different clients and industries. I am always looking for ways to improve."
